Colorado Gives Day 2026
What is it, when is it, and how can you participate?
Colorado Gives Day is a powerful day of giving in the Centennial State. It was created in 2010 by the Community First Foundation, which is now known as the Colorado Gives Foundation. Since its inception, it has raised more than half a billion dollars with over 440,000 donors.
What makes Colorado Gives Day extra special is the Colorado Gives Foundation match. The organization matches your first monthly recurring donation, up to $100! This means that when you make a recurring donation, the organization matches your first month's giving. Even giving $5 a month ($60 a year), activates that match (making the total year giving $65).
When is Colorado Gives Day?
This year, Colorado Gives Day is officially on December 8, 2026 - but you can start giving as early as November 1.
Why give to Clinica on Colorado Gives Day?
There are thousands of nonprofits for you to support this Colorado Gives Day, and there is no wrong choice when giving back to your community. With the rising costs of living and healthcare options being further limited, life's necessities feel more and more out of reach. At Clinica Family Health & Wellness, we aim to put people first by providing compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals and families regardless of cost. We are here for our community. We are here for you. This Colorado Gives Day, we ask that you consider giving to Clinica.
What does Clinica do for my community?
Clinica is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a safety-net provider. If you're not familiar with these terms, FQHCs are healthcare organizations that follow specific guidelines such as:
Serving patients in historically under-resourced areas
Having a board that is comprised of at least 51% patients (meaning patients that receive care at Clinica have direct decision-making power in the organization)
Providing whole-person healthcare such as physical, oral, and behavioral health, and
Offering a sliding-scale pay option.
As a safety-net provider, we provide services regardless of insurance status. For example, our 24/7 Walk-in Crisis Center in Louisville is open to anyone in need of in-person support during a mental health or substance use crisis. Life is unpredictable and healthcare coverage can be unstable. If you or a loved one finds themself without insurance, without resources, and without support, we are here to help.
Who does Clinica serve?
There are more than 969,000 people living in the communities Clinica serves across Adams, Boulder, Broomfield, and Gilpin counties. More than 22% (one in five) live at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, and children under 18 are disproportionately affected by poverty in our service area.
Over 90,000 people in our community are uninsured, while nearly 200,000 receive care through Medicaid. More than 13,000 of Clinica's clients and patients are uninsured, and almost 23,000 are living at or below the federal poverty line. Our clients and patients come from many different experiences and backgrounds. From toothaches, depression, pregnancy support, and substance use disorder, we support these individuals by providing affordable medical, oral, and mental health services.
With thousands of Coloradans expected to lose Medicaid and insurance coverage in the coming months and years due to federal changes, even more people may face barriers to accessing the care they need.
What does my Colorado Gives Day gift do?
These financial changes put stress on our healthcare systems and services. Your donation helps protect access to affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health care for individuals and families in the community where you live, especially in times of uncertainty. Your support can help Clinica:
Sustain access to preventive and specialty services.
Provide care regardless of a person’s ability to pay.
Reduce barriers related to language, transportation, geography, and navigating the health care system.
Connect people to the right care at the right time.
Strengthen whole-person care so that physical health, mental health, oral health, and substance use are treated holistically and not as separate parts of a person's life.
Ensure that people experiencing some of life's most difficult moments have a place where they can turn for compassionate, trusted care.
Your generosity helps create a community where trusted care is always within reach, where people can connect to health and well-being, and where each person knows they matter.
