Walk-in Crisis & Addiction Services Center

A mental health crisis (whether related to substance use, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, or other factors) can happen at any time. Our Walk-In Crisis & Addiction Services Center in Boulder is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Services include confidential, in-person support, information, and referrals to anyone in need, as well as supportive withdrawal management and detox care. We serve anyone – regardless of age, diagnosis, insurance, or home address. You do not need to be a Colorado resident or an existing MHP client to get help.

Living Room Model

The Living Room is a welcoming, communal space for individuals in crisis to receive support and care in a welcoming and calm environment based on the principles of autonomy, respect, hope, empowerment, and social inclusion. While in The Living Room, individuals have access to MHP’s compassionate and expert staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Yes, our Walk-In Crisis Center offers in-person support to our community at any time of day. We can help you or a loved one experiencing a mental health crisis – regardless of whether or not you are a client or have completed the registration process. You can also contact the National Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988 – or the Colorado Crisis Line at 1-844-493-8255 (or text “TALK” to 38255).

What constitutes a "crisis"?

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a mental health emergency or crisis is “any situation in which a person’s behavior puts them at risk of hurting themselves or others and/or prevents them from being able to care for themselves or function effectively in the community”.

Defining the precise meaning of "crisis" is less important. What matters more is being able to identify when a person's behavior causes them to be a danger to themselves or others, and then taking action to seek out immediate help. Whatever you or a loved one are going through, we can help you find the support you need.
