What are Certified Application Assistance Sites?

Do you need help applying for Medicaid in Colorado?  

Government forms and documents can be incredibly overwhelming. Certified Application Assistance Sites (CAAS) were created to help Colorado residents get the assistance they need.  

CAAS are sites authorized by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to help Colorado residents apply for programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). CAAS staff are trained to help Coloradans apply for public assistance, and there is no cost to receive assistance.   

What a CAAS does 

• Helps Colorado residents apply for Medicaid and other public assistance benefits. 

• Adheres to HIPAA requirements to protect your privacy. 

• Provides assistance to all members of the community, including residents with limited mobility or no internet access. 

• Offers services at no cost. 

What a CAAS does NOT do 

A CAAS does NOT make final decisions about a person’s eligibility for Medicaid or other public assistance. Your eligibility is decided by the county or state agency.  

What to bring to a CAAS appointment 

Before you visit a Certified Application Assistance Site to get help applying for Medicaid, you should prepare documents that you’ll need to verify your identity, address, household size, and financial situation. Gathering these in advance will prevent you from having to go back multiple times and streamline your application.

Walk-ins Welcomed 

Our Enrollment team is happy to help you apply for Medicaid. They are available at these locations from 8am - 4pm Monday thru Thursday, and 8am-3:30pm on Friday. All sites are closed for lunch from 12pm-1pm
