Amy Alper
Amy began her medical career in 1995 as a Physician Assistant in an internal medicine practice, where she combined conventional and homeopathic medications for both preventive health and acute and chronic diseases. In 1997, she joined Clinica Family Health and Wellness and practiced primary care, as well as provided medical director leadership for several years. She also provided oversight of several off-sight programs, including homeless health care, home visit programs and post-partum hospital care. She chose to narrow her focus to psychiatry as she found it had become a large part of her primary care work and the piece she was most interested in pursuing. She believes it is important to listen carefully to patients and clients, empower their decision-making role in their health, and help cultivate trusted relationships with other team members who can provide invaluable mental health support. When not working, Amy enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time with her grandchildren.
